The EM1202EV is a BASIC-programmable board designed primarily for the tasks of remote control of serial devices and the conversion of RS232 / ethernet interfaces.
Serial to Ethernet Development Board Tibbo EM1202EV, BASIC-programmable is available to buy in increments of 1

EM1202-EV BASIC-programmable Ethernet card.

The EM1202-EV is a card based on the EM1202 Ethernet module that converts 100BaseT Ethernet to a serial interface. This board offers a suitable solution for testing the EM1202 module and is also sufficient for the rapid development of devices.

Programmed with Tibbo BASIC, EM1202-EV is an inexpensive alternative to a development system, unlike expensive integrated computer platforms, such as motherboards with LINUX OS.

The EM1202-EV has three versions (-RS, -TM, -TS), which differ in the installed components — a detailed description is given below. EM1202-EV can be used to create stand-alone devices and for embedding in ready-made solutions.

Hardware Specifications:

  • Compact, with a PCB size of 52.6x38mm.
  • Two power supply options are possible: the input voltage regulator is 9-24V (RS, TM version) or 3.3V (TS version).
  • 100BaseT Ethernet port.
  • RS232 interface (-RS) or TTL-level (-TM, -TS) serial port (TX, RX, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR).
  • Two LED indicators embedded on the board (-RS).
  • Reliable reset, even with insignificant and short-term power supply drops.
  • The firmware is updated via both the serial port and the Ethernet interface.
  • The EM1202-EV Starter Kit is available.

Possibility of programming in BASIC:

  • Executable applications are developed in Tibbo BASIC.
  • Absolute flexibility - imagine that the EM1202-EV is a miniature computer platform.
  • Comes with TIDE - a complete development environment with a debug mode.
  • Integrated web server (HTTP) with dynamic content.
  • Numerous high-level, high-speed, and easily coded objects. Available facilities:
    • Sock - Supports up to 16 TCP or UDP sockets;
    • Ser - serial interface;
    • Io - control lines of the serial port;
    • Stor - read and write EEPROM;
    • Romfile - attaching static (ROM) data to the project;

Input voltage regulator YES NO
Reliable reset circuit YES
  • EM1202-EV-RS ("RS" stands for "RS-232") includes an RS232 interface, an input voltage regulator, and built-in status indicators (LEDs). This board can be used, for example, to create a serial device server, such as the Tibbo DS100.
  • EM1202-EV-TM ("TM" stands for "TTL Master") is installed in a serial device or PCB. The board has a TTL serial interface, as well as an input voltage stabilizer for 3.3V (up to 100mA).
  • EM1202-EV-TS ("TS" stands for "TTL Slave") is also embedded in a device but does not have an input voltage regulator. Your board must provide a nominal input voltage of 3.3V and, optionally, a reset signal (not required for standard operation).
