In Windows 10, Microsoft took the best of Windows 7 and Windows 8, and most importantly, brought back the Start button. However, it is far from the declared perfection.
A bug related to the accumulation of a large number of items in the Start menu was discovered in Windows 10. Users of the new operating system began to complain that they could not find the applications they installed, that the menu stopped opening or opened with delays of more than 10 seconds. PStart menu overload hinders the execution of tasks, is accompanied by system freezing and leads to numerous failures in the operation of programs.
Information about this error was received by Microsoft from testers last year, but the creators of the OS for some reason did not fix it. Now they've started working on it.
The only solution to this problem is to reduce the total number of items in the menu to less than 512.
By item we mean everything that can be located in the Start menu: files, shortcuts, directories. At first glance, the number 512 may seem quite large, but given that the menu already contains a number of shortcuts, and programs add new ones there each time after installation (for example, Chrome has 5 items, Microsoft Office has 14), this is not an unattainable figure.
