Today, low-tech industries are using RFID to improve efficiency. You have to wash a lot of laundry for your family every week. Now imagine that “Your family” is a company with 2,000 employees. Many amusement parks, hotels, resorts, and other venues that host large events face this problem.

Managers at these types of facilities must collect employee uniforms, wash, dry, iron, and return them to their owners. Sometimes this means 10,000 … 20,000... or even 30,000 different items of clothing, every day!

One company in Singapore discovered that RFID could help.

By installing RFID readers in the area where employees drop off their uniforms after their shift and providing each employee with an RFID badge, the company increased efficiency, reduced labor costs, and almost completely eliminated data entry errors. The integration of the RFID system with the accounting and procurement systems has enabled additional benefits such as automated invoices and orders.

Protecting employee privacy, RFID tracking begins and ends in the uniform collection room. Employees are not monitored during the rest of the workday.
