Kiosk printers

Kiosk printers

One of the most important and most vulnerable components for kiosks and payment terminals is a thermal printer (kiosk printer).

altThermal printer is a printing device used in payment, information, and internet kiosks, payment terminals, etc. It is distinguished by its reliability, print speed, and resistance to paper jams. Kiosk printers manufactured by ZEBRA-SWECOIN and CUSTOM ENGINEERING are widely known for their reliability. These companies produce both frameless kiosk printers and POS printers in cases used in retail, as well as thermal ticket printers. Frameless printers are easily integrated into kiosk enclosures. These kiosk printers typically feature paper feed mechanisms, paper cutters, and dedicated paper-low, paper-out, and fault sensors.

altAll this allows them to operate autonomously, without an operator. In addition to the above mechanisms, kiosk printers have a document alignment mechanism. Many kiosk printers are also equipped with a "presenter" mechanism, which allows you to first print a document, then cut it, and only then issue it to the client. This mechanism prevents skewing during printing and will not allow an unprinted document to be pulled out and damage the printer.

Thermal printers can print on thick paper (150 grams instead of the standard 55-65 grams), which is especially important for printing tickets and receipts. Thermal printers print at speeds ranging from 50 to 150 mm per second. Kiosk printers are manufactured for both A4 and roll paper printing.

Today, in the difficult economic situation, many companies are trying to save money and buy "cheaper" products. However, the use of cheaper analogues and used components usually leads to frequent breakdowns and, as a result, downtime of the terminals, which is not at all advisable from an economic point of view.
