Ukrainian DIY retailer Novaya Liniya intends to increase its turnover by 12.1% in 2011 compared to 2010 – to UAH 3.7 billion.

Ukrainian DIY retailer Novaya Liniya CJSC intends to increase its turnover by 12.1% in 2011 compared to 2010, reaching UAH 3.7 billion.

This was announced by Oleg Shandar, Chairman of the Board of Novaya Liniya.

According to him, the company's turnover in 2010 amounted to approximately UAH 3.3 billion, and the retailer plans to increase this figure to UAH 3.7 billion in 2011. For comparison, in 2010, Novaya Liniya CJSC's turnover increased by approximately 10%, from UAH 3.0 billion. in 2009.

Also, according to O. Shandar, in 2010 the average bill in the company's construction hypermarkets decreased, while the number of customers, on the contrary, increased. Before the crisis, purchases in Novaya Liniya stores were mainly made by those who were buying housing, but now it is mainly those people who are doing renovations who buy, that is, smaller items are sold, noted O. Shandar.

In addition, O. Shandar said that Novaya Liniya already has about 5 thousand private label products in its assortment and intends to increase this list by another 20% in 2011, while the amount of monthly investments in the company's private labels will amount to about 5-10 million UAH.

Finally, the chairman of the retailer's board clarified that in the second half of 2011, the company intends to open one construction hypermarket in Kyiv and one in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
