Gmail finally has a dark theme on Android 10 and iOS

More and more apps allow users to switch to a dark interface. This not only saves battery life on devices with OLED screens, but also reduces the negative impact on eyesight – the dark theme reduces unnatural, very high contrast. Starting August 24th, this option will also come to Gmail.

Due to the multi-million users of the Gmail application, the update will be rolled out gradually. Google expects the change to be available in approximately 15 days, but reserves the right to extend this timeframe. The dark theme will be available to both Android phone owners (unfortunately, at the moment we are only talking about the latest version –Android 10) and iOS (versions 11, 12, 13).

The ability to change the theme of the Gmail application has been awaited for a particularly long time, especially by people who use e-mail intensively and do not want to strain their eyes too much, but also by fans of perfect order on mobile devices. They were waiting for the default Google email interface to finally become consistent with what the given system offers.
