Cubic Global Tracking Solutions is providing the United States Army with its new AMATS wireless network technology, which enables real-time tracking of military equipment transported from Iraq.
As part of the system, Cubic delivered 2,000 network tags to a U.S. peacekeeping camp near Kuwait. Small tags with GPS transmitters are attached to vehicles and connected wirelessly to form a network.
Cubic GTS technology is currently helping track and manage thousands of U.S. Army vehicles, including tanks, MRAPS, Humvees, trucks, and other vehicles and equipment that have been redeployed due to the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
The exact location of each tag can be determined by its serial number, which is stored in the Cubic GTS Device Management Center - a central database of all tags used in the operation.
