Vail Ski Resorts, a Colorado ski resort, has installed a new RFID social media app that allows skiers and snowboarders to track and share their progress on the Colorado slopes, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The program, called EpicMix, allows everyone on the mountain to use an RFID pass and automatically track how many runs they've made, how many vertical drops they've made, and where exactly they skied and where their friends were.
Skiers and snowboarders can earn badges or badges for completing certain tasks on the mountain, which ultimately helps determine who is the most experienced athlete. The RFID app allows guests to share their experiences and upload photos to their personal EpicMix account, which in turn can be linked to Facebook and Twitter.
