According to Roland Berger and Nielsen, the volume of retail sales of food products in Poland in 2010 amounted to 176 billion zlotys (approximately 475 billion UAH).
This is 3.3% more than in 2009, when this figure amounted to 170.4 billion zlotys.
At the same time, the share of modern retail chains (supermarkets, hypermarkets and megamarkets) in the total sales volume in Poland in 2010 amounted to 48%, which is 6.7% more than the volume in 2009. At the same time, the share of the traditional channel (large grocery stores, grocery stores, gas station stores, small architectural forms, pharmacies and specialized retail outlets) fell from 55% in 2009 to 52% in 2010.
We also remind you that, according to GT Partners Ukraine, modern retail chains in Ukraine accounted for about 84 billion in turnover in 2010 year.
