The MeLe F10 PRO remote control has a built-in audio input, but it was designed specifically for MeLe TV Boxes. Connecting to other Boxes causes the Android(!) OS to switch to the Mele F10 PRO sound card, which will result in no sound in the Box.

There are two ways to solve this problem:

  1. (Less technical) Install Soundabout and make sure that HDMI (or whichever output you are using) is selected as the sound output. Some people have reported an issue where the HDMI option has disappeared from Soundabout, requiring a reinstallation of the app to restore it.
  2. (A bit more tech-savvy.) Install ES File explorer and edit the audio policy file to disable USB as an audio option:
    • We recommend doing this with a valid keyboard/mouse.
    • Install and run ES File Explorer
    • In Tools (on the left), make sure that root explorer is turned on
    • Click root explorer, then Mount R/W - check if the system is set to RW
    • Next, in the local area (left), select /, then in the main window, go to /system/etc and click 'audio_policy.conf' to edit it (select ES Note Editor)
    • Click the menu and select "edit"
    • Find the line starting with USB and comment out all the lines in this section in a similar way:

Code:

    • Press the back button, then save.
    • After that, restart (I'm not sure if this is required, but it certainly can't hurt).

Problem solved ;)
