The official Google Play store offers hundreds of thousands of different applications for devices running the Android operating system. But to download new games or useful software to your gadget, you need to set up your account in the Google store.
To work with the Google Play store, you need a Google account — A single pass to all company services, or an email address of "@gmail.com" — a Google account is automatically attached to your Gmail account. If you don't have an account or email address, you can register directly from the Google Play store the first time you launch it.
1. Open the Google Play app and select "Or create a new account." Enter your first and last name (in Russian is acceptable). This information can be real or fictitious. After you finish entering, click "Done".
2. In the next step, choose a username, which will also serve as your Gmail email address.
The username can only consist of Latin letters, numbers, and some symbols: periods, dashes, and underscores. When coming up with a login, you will most likely have to use your imagination: many names have already been registered, and the service will not allow you to register a duplicate name.
3. After you successfully select a name, Google Play will prompt you to create a password that will be used to sign in to all Google services.
The minimum password length is 8 characters. These can be Latin letters and numbers, as well as dashes, periods, underscores, brackets and some other special characters.
After entering your password, Google will automatically determine its strength based on several criteria:
use of special characters;
use of numbers;
combination of letters in UPPER and lower case.
To avoid entering errors, and therefore remembering your password, you will need to enter it twice, and then click "Done".
4. To securely manage your Google account (for example, recovering or changing your password), you can link it to your mobile phone number. If you are not ready to provide such data, you can do this later, but for now, select "Skip" for this option.
Or enter a valid mobile phone number, which will receive an SMS with a verification code within a couple of minutes. If the SIM card is in the same device from which the account is registered, the process will continue automatically, and if the devices are different - You will have to enter the code manually.
Agree to the terms of the license agreement and, if necessary, check the boxes for the Google newsletter and account data backup.
5. If you plan to download more than just free apps from Google Play, you need to choose how you will pay for purchases: by credit card or from your PayPal account.
When selecting "Add a credit or debit card," you will need to provide its full details: number, expiration date, CVV code (three digits on the back of the card next to the cardholder's signature). The system will also ask for a mailing address.
To make purchases using PayPal, you must provide your PayPal login and password.
6. You will be automatically logged in to your newly created account, and the Google Play Store will immediately open with your account activated. Registration is complete, you can start downloading apps and games.
Potential problems
If the system displays an account login error at the final stage of registration, try entering your password again, and if unsuccessful, log in not through the app, but from the Google Play website via a browser.
