Search results will be categorized so that news from trusted sources will be displayed first, then from people you follow, then popular quotes, and then all other news.
This move reflects Facebook's desire to retain users on its site who might otherwise use alternative sources of information.
At the same time, the social network leaves the option for users who would not like their old messages to be found later to exclude their posts from the search database.
