One of the first toll roads in modern Germany, the Warnow Tunnel, uses an RFID system to pay for tolls, which helps avoid unnecessary traffic jams at the entrance to the tunnel.

The Automatic Vehicle Identification System uses special RFID tags in the form of stickers on the windshield.

The compact RFID tag is associated with the corresponding customer account. The toll is charged depending on the type of vehicle passing through the barrier checkpoint, which is equipped with an RFID reader. The sticker tag on the windshield has a response time of no more than two seconds, allowing vehicles to pass the checkpoint at low speed without stopping. The RFID tag on the windshield provides automatic and contactless identification of vehicles in the flow. While the car is moving at low speed, fast and secure data transmission is carried out over a distance of several meters. In addition, integrated security features provide a high level of protection against unauthorized access or ticket counterfeiting. Source: keytex.ru
