In Windows 10, Microsoft took the best features from "Seven" and "Eight," and most importantly, brought back the Start button. Nevertheless, it is far from the claimed perfection.
A vulnerability was discovered in Windows 10an error related to the accumulation of a large number of items in the Start menuUsers of the new operating system began to complain, that they cannot find the applications they installed, that the menu stops opening or opens with delays of more than 10 seconds. POverloading the Start menu hinders task execution, causes system freezes, and leads to numerous program malfunctions.
Information about this error was reported to Microsoft by testers throughout last year, but for some reason the OS creators did not fix it. Now they have started working on it.
The only onesolution to this problemis to reduce the total number of items in the menu to fewer than 512.
An item refers to everything that can be located in the Start menu: files, shortcuts, directories. At first glance, the number 512 may seem quite large, but considering that the menu already contains a certain number of shortcuts, and programs add new ones there each time they are installed (for example, Chrome – 5 items, Microsoft Office – 14), this is not an unattainable figure.
