Consulting company CBRE has published its latest annual global review of the retail real estate segment, "RETAIL CHAINS: DEGREE OF BUSINESS GLOBALIZATION 2012" ("How Global is the Business of Retail 2012").
The company's research aimed to identify general trends in the development strategy of retail operators, including determining the global presence of retailers both in world markets and in major cities. This study covers 326 key international retailers, and the compiled rating includes 200 cities in 73 countries.
According to the results of the new study, Kyiv took 64th place in the ranking of cities by the presence of international retailers, moving up from 78th place in the 2011 rating. At the end of 2011, 25.2% of the surveyed retail operators were present in Kyiv, while at the end of 2010 - 22.6%. London, Dubai, and New York (in descending order) remain the top three cities in terms of international retailer presence.
