OpenELEC 6.0 has entered Beta 5.

The OpenELEC team is proud to announce the release of OpenELEC 6.0 Beta 5 (v5.95.5).

The most notable change is Kodi 15.1 (Isengard). Starting with Kodi 15.0, the audio encoder, audio decoder, PVR, and visualization add-ons are no longer included in the base OS, but they are available through the Kodi Add-on Manager and can be installed from there if needed. PVR engines such as VDR and TVHeadend will be installed as required automatically. For more information on Kodi 15.1, please visit: http://kodi.tv/kodi-15-1-isengard-maintenance-release/.

OpenELEC now officially supports WeTek_Play devices with a build that installs to the internal NAND and dual-boots with Android to the SD card. The IMX6 build extends support to all Solidrun Cubox-I/TV, Solidrun Hummingboard devices, and OSMC Vero.

The OpenELEC 6.0 release (and v5.95.x beta) contains the major version bump of Kodi. If you are upgrading from OpenELEC 5.0 or an earlier version, we strongly recommend that you perform a full backup before performing a manual update. If you experience problems, please perform a soft reset to clear OpenELEC and Kodi settings.
