Hardware Test - MeLE F10 Deluxe

After describing several Android-Box devices, it is worth testing the Air-Mouse controller, without which it is impossible to fully utilize the capabilities of our box.

In this review, I will describe a device that combines the functions of multiple controllers: a mouse, keyboard, pad, and remote control.

Is it worth getting theMeLE F10 Deluxe? You will find out in thistest.

Package contents

The device is delivered in a small black cardboard box. Most of the box is matte, but about 1/3 of the left side is finished with glossy varnish. The size of the box is slightly larger than twice the size of the remote control itself.

At the top and bottom of the box are photographs of both sides of the remote control and a description of the device's functions. One of the longer sides contains icon graphics with the functions and supported systems. You can also find information about the manufacturer and the website address on the box.

After opening the top, you'll see the MeLE F10 Deluxe remote control protected by heat-sealed foil. Beneath it, on a cardboard divider, are the device's specifications. After uncovering this part, we have access to the rest of the kit (cable, adapter, instructions).

2. USB adapter.
3. USB/Micro USB cable 0.5 m long (for charging).
4. Instructions in English.

Appearance and functions

The remote control is made of Glossy black plastic. The controller is double-sided – the upper part has basic control keys, while the lower part has an almost full-fledged QWERTY keyboard.

The upper part allows you to control the device to which the USB adapter is connected or two others via infrared. You switch between functions by pressing one of the four lower buttons. There is also an Air-Mouse switch – a mouse symbol above the D-pad on the left.

The lower part also allows you to enable mouse control and Game Mode (gyroscope). It mainly contains keys for entering letters and additional characters (after holding the Fn key). There are also arrows here.

On the left side, there's an LED that indicates when a key is pressed (short flash), the remote's programming mode is active (lit for a few seconds and flashing), and when the battery is low (flickering). There's also a hidden reset button on this side. On the right there is a sticker with the serial number, device name and function icons.

The front part is, of course, the diode infrared too "fast" – like a regular remote control.
On the bottom side of this model you will find a Micro USB port for charging the device.

The remote has an identical casing to other MeLE F10 models, so even though there are small openings for the speaker and microphone, you shouldn't look for those functions here. They are reserved for the MeLE F10 Pro only.

The controller is very light and small, but fits extremely well in the hand. Pressing the buttons is effortless – the buttons on the top are a bit harder when pressed, while the bottom keyboard is quite soft. The remote can be operated with one hand, and there's no need to change your grip position. On the lower keyboard, you can easily enter even longer texts or even control the application menu using the built-in arrow keys.
