PositiveID announced the release of an RFID chip called GlucoChip, which can measure the blood glucose level of a person with diabetes, for whom it was actually developed.

According to the latest analytical data, in the United States alone, the number of people with diabetes is about 8% of the entire population of the United States, which is approximately 25 million children and adults.

GlucoChip is used to identify patients. The integrated bio-sensor system utilizes RFID technology and communicates remotely with the transmitter via wireless communications.

The company believes that glucose measurement using this system will allow people with diabetes to monitor their blood glucose levels more effectively.
